we had a christmas piano recital today for some people at a nursing home. it was kinda sad and depressing because all the parents were standing around kinda awkwardly, and you could tell they were kinda itching for the whole thing to end so they could just get to the refreshments. a couple of us were late getting there, and half of us couldn't play our songs right. but fortuneately i did better than i expected to. i had three songs to play: a quadret (2 pianos, 8 hands)of oh holy night, a duet of do you hear what i hear, and a solo of carol of the bells. they had a grand piano in the room, which was really nice because in all the previous years they've always had this old little mini-upright thing that sounds like a 50-year-old recording of a sick chicken. trying to sing. anyway, one of the keys on the new grand piano was broken, so we ended up having to play on the keyboard (which we had brought anyway because we had to do the quadret on keyboards). so yeah i guess a lot went wrong but everyone loved it and they said they didn't notice when we messed up. besides, the residents enjoyed it and that's something they don't get to experience very often. it's gotta get so boring at assisted living centers.
oh, and youth group saturday! i had a great time! i loved to be able to discuss the message with my friends because that's something i rarely do at my own church, and i had a lot of fun meeting people and talking and everything. you'll definitely be seeing me there again!

Ok, well, I'm glad the recital didn't go too horribly bad.
And I'm glad you had fun at youth group even if I didn't really talk to you...
